Outsmart the Blip
page
The way to beat
the blip page without seeing it for
PhotoReading.
I know many beginning PhotoReaders get stuck
on the blip page. Without it they feel they are not
PhotoReading.
The blip page is a nice way of knowing you are in photofocus
but it doesn't make you a successful PhotoReader. So lets
outsmart this step of the system
The blip page will show up with experience. You'll notice
that those PhotoReaders you admire just did it as best they
could. The pros didn't even know about the blip page when he
started. They just noticed it after a time that it was there.
My first spontaneous activation happened without ever seeing a
blip page. Even now I don't bother looking for the blip page.
If I notice it fine. yet PhotoReading works just as well
without it.
The real secret is noticing (not seeing) noticing both pages
at the same time. That's it in a nutshell. I'll give you some
tips to refine that idea.
Have you ever looked at something and saw it without seeing
it? Probably while you were daydreaming staring at the wall our
out the window. You noticed what was in front of you but didn't
actually see it. Not consciously. You just shifted your focus
to see it consciously.
That's how you outsmart the blip page and get into
photofocus. It can feel like you are daydreaming. You don't
look at the words but you notice the page. You notice the
pattern of white. To know that you are noticing both full pages
imagine an X joining the opposing corners. Just an imaginary
line that goes from the outer top left page corner to the outer
bottom right page corner. And from the outer top right page
corner to the outer bottom left page corner. It intersects in
the middle of the book.
Those are the points you are noticing (not seeing) four
outer corners and the middle of the book. Turn the pages as
quickly as you comfortably can with a steady rhythm.
That's it. Outsmarting the blip page. What do you do when
you notice the blip page? Keep turning the pages. It may stay,
it may go and you're still PhotoReading that book.
Bring in the rest of the system and you'll become a proficient
PhotoReader in no time.
